It warmed up to about 30 degrees today and I’m already thinking spring! haha It is right around the corner and now is the time to start thinking of the Beautiful things you want to do to your new Home! Wanting to add some personal touches to your outdoor space as well as creating a great place for you to view wildlife?

Landscaping on a budget:

If you want a garden but have limited space to do so, you can create a small vegetable garden lined with rocks, even on the side of your home! This is very easy work as well! Depending on how much sunlight you have available, you can do small things like Basil, Thyme, and other herbs, another great thing I like to do is add a grass like  Lemon Grass, which will also help ward off mosquitos!

You say you can’t keep anything alive? You don’t have a green thumb?… other ways to make your outdoor space more appealing are Planting Bulbs like daffodils and tulips, that just require planting in fall and come back every year from early spring to mid summer! Also, bushes require very little work, and most do not require a lot of sunlight for shady areas! Some great Bushes are the boxwood bush, or the burning bush which will give you that beautiful red hue in Autumn. If you have abundant sunlight Hydrangeas are also a great option if you want something that will flower and create that pop of color!

Creating Homes for Birds:

To supplement the bird’s diet to rear their young, plant red buckeye, birch, honeysuckle or bee balm. A large majority of plants produce seed or fruit in the late summer to fall. Anything that seeds or fruits is a great Ideas to attract birds! Some great ways to make easy bird feeders and the kids can help too! Heres an easy one, all you need is bird seed, a bottle, and some wooden spoons. Drill some holes in the bottom for the seed to fall out and to cross the spoons through, and your good! 

Giving birds a place they can call home helps them raise their young as well as staying warm in winter, here are some DIY options for bird houses! If you have those carpenter qualities in you, you can do some thing like this, other wise like I said, if you want to get the kids involved, it can be done simply with some bottles and a little paint!

All of these things will help give your home a little curb appeal for selling, or even after you have purchased your new forever home, to help make it your own! Your family will thank you!
